Lessig video in a Happy New Year mode

Titled “The differences between culture and code”

Thanks Joi Ito for pointing me at the inspiring lecture by Lawrence Lessig, who is a law professor at Stanford Law School and the author of best selling book code Now the book itself comes in wiki. Still somewhat technical (to me, at least), it nicely summarises what copyright, DRM and/or intellectual property rights mean and will mean to us. I think it is also about the bottom-up take over, which Kevin Kelly suggested, from another perspective.

Came in Google video (not in YouTube), especially good to watch in a happy new year mode.

After listening to the audio of today’s press conference, now I have a better understanding of how FON will be used and utilized in Japan (Audio in English more or less with Japanese translation accompanied by Joi Ito et al, by the courtesy of Gorsuke Takama.)

Update: Here is the press release handout in PDF in Japanese 記者会見の資料(日本語), generously provided again by Gohsuke Takama.
