MySpace to be banned for under 18
Published May 13th, 2006 in MySpace.アメリカのペンシルバニア州では、未成年（18才未満）のソーシャルネットワーク（特にティーンに人気で社会問題にもなっているmySpace)の利用禁止、および図書館など施設からソーシャルネットワークの利用を禁止するとう法案が通りそうだという。びっくりですね。MySpaceでは実際には殺人事件もおこってるらしいので、こういうことなのでしょうが、果たして効果があるのか、疑問です。もしぼくが未成年で、Penn州にいたら、年齢を詐称するでしょうね。もしかして、IDの提示をもとめるのでしょうか？そうなれば、まず、ビジネスモデルとして、MySpaceは成り立たなくなるでしょうね。どうなることやら。。
TechCrunchによると、2006/07/27付けて、法案がとおったようですね。

A Pennsylvania congressman has introduced legislation that would ban minors from accessing social networking Web sites such as MySpace, according to Fox News. (First I got to know the news via danah boyd.) Not sure if this makes things better. I’d bet minors in Pennsylvania would cheat their age when signing up for MySpace (I guess this is practically impossible to enforce). Or, should they require the ID presentation at sign up, then the MySpace business model will probably collapse. how sad…
Update: Mike Arrington of TechCrunch, also a lawyer, evaluates the new remedies mySpace plans to implement the next week.
Update: 2006/07/28 TEchCrunch reports that the bill has been passed.

Well, I think myspace can be bad. hackers can hack into your computer, get a code from your computer, then find your address and stuff like that. but yeah you can make them private but hackers can get in if they want to and setting your page to private can stop a determined hacker. sorry but sometimes adults are right. and cussing dont help either lol.

MySpace isn’t the problem, it’s parents who let their kids do whatever they want without any supervision. Children should be allowed to have one, if it is supervised by an adult, making sure that they aren’t being contacted by a sexual predator or anything like that. By making your profile private, also signifigantly reduces your risk of being contacted by sexual predators.

Well first of all if this bill passes or w.e i will be kind of upset. I only get on there to talk to friends and if i dont know who the person is i dont add them and or talk to them. I think its the parents fault who doesnt watch there children while there on the computer. Its rediculous that there going to do this..
