the opposite of WWGD

Interestingly enough, new Google Japan seems to pursue the opposite of WWGD. Branding ad, Proprietary, owning distributing , owning content, .. following exactly what it took Yahoo Japan to be No.1 portal in the digital world in Japan. My guess is it is the matter of time and Japan is probably about 5 years or so behind in many aspects.


I personally don’t think branding ad would work for Google Japan in anyway.
Their challenge is to nurture the tech savvy community in Japan and popularize them them to a lager whole. Nothing else would work.
