Following my previous post using technorati chart, I got started to doubt the validity of it. Here is why: This time, I used quite the generic Japanese word “wa” (or “ha” or ã¯) on the same chart and obtained the following. Since it is so generic the word of Japanese, the chart should represent the evolution of the number of blog posts in Japanese over a year time.
Peaked around February. Tried other words too and the resulted shapes looked more or less the same.
Is this the matter of seasonality or just the matter of artificial factors – such as, technorati increased their object blogs in January to February and then subtracted them afterwards anyhow ?
The shape took on a really strange form – peaked around February and decreased afterwards- People blog less in March -June and more in January to February. I don’t know. In many other categories I have observed people do things less in January and February and do more things in April and May especially in Japan.Â
