del.icio.us, flickr, technorati, and recently, cocoment, among others, are the great tools for those reading and writing blogs across the world, letting them connect each other where appropriate. These are the phenomena totally unachievable in the previous era (web 1.0?). Then nothing wrong with it when someone is smart enough and wise enough to convince prominent bloggers to spread the word through blogging, not through the traditional media like WSJ?  We’d better think how the traditional media is being transformed.
Update: Varsavsky expressed some regrets about his media relation strategy. I still don’t know if there is any practical difference in the announcement format : 1)issuing the formal press release and 2) founder’s blogging about it. I thought the founder himself gave the press release in his own blog for his company.
